Ummul Qura Islamic School is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and qualified female educator to serve as the Head Academic Teacher for our Pre-K to 3rd Grade program. This leader will oversee all academic planning and instruction, support and supervise classroom teachers, and ensure high standards of learning and development for our students.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise academic planning and curriculum implementation.
Support, observe, and guide all classroom teachers.
Ensure age-appropriate curriculum alignment with academic standards.
Plan and conduct teacher training and professional development.
Monitor student progress and coordinate assessments.
Collaborate with the school principal and Islamic Studies/Hifz coordinators.
Maintain a positive, nurturing, and professional academic environment.
Ensure academic excellence while aligning with Islamic values.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or Early Childhood Education (Master’s preferred).
Valid teaching certification (preferred).
Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience, ideally in lower elementary grades.
Previous experience in a leadership or coordinator role.
Strong knowledge of early childhood and elementary curriculum standards.
Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
Passion for education and commitment to holistic child development.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Islamic school settings.
Familiarity with integrating Islamic values into general education.
Training in child-centered or inquiry-based learning models (Montessori, Reggio, etc.).
